I am so excited to introduce the wines of Vietti to my guests at the JeannieBird Baking Company. I started my relationship with this noble estate back in 1989 when winery was owned by 4th generation Alfredo Currado and Luciana Vietti.


Founded in the late 1800's, the winery is located in the northwest corner of Italy in the Langhe hills surrounding the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto. The iconic Vietti estate is known for producing some of the regions most powerful and distinctive reds and whites. Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto as well as Roero Arneis and Moscato are all part of the Vietti portfolio.


Brennan Downey of Downey Selections, our Vietti importer, will be joining us this evening and leading us through this magnificent wine portfolio. I had the privilege of working along side his father Michael, founder of Downey Selections, when I first started in the wine industry in 1989.

Pinot Party!

Wine Dinner| Friday April 12th, 2024 | 6:30P

$50 per person


An evening of celebration focused on some of the wine worlds most beloved reds, whites and sparklers.  Our docket will include a well rounded list of Pinots of all shapes and sizes.  Noir! Meunier! Grigio! Bianco! All of these and more answer to the name Pinot, and offer a spectrum of colors, styles and flavors.


Our "Kitchen Kroo" will prepare a delicious assortment of sweet and savory small plates that have been hand-selected to dance with the evening's wine selections.


The tasting includes 6 wines along with an a-la-carte menu of individually priced small plates.

She always wanted to
open a place of her own,
and she did it..."

The JeannieBird Baking Company started as a farmers' market stall in the summer of 2008, and became a landmark on Main Street in November of 2014 thanks to Jeannie's passionate baking and humble persistence.

She raised 3 children while putting herself through college, became a labor and delivery RN at the Carroll Hospital Center, championed prenatal care with the Maryland Department of Health and Hygene and THEN started a business and built a community.  

We lost Jeannie to a tragic car accident in February of 2016 and we are so grateful for the love, kindness and support our community has shared with us during the best of times and the unthinkable worst. 

Jeannie's legacy lives on thanks to our wonderful "Croo" members, past and present, who carry on her vision and recipies.  Everything we offer is baked-from-scratch with lots of love and butter.  We're a bakery that does things; a bakery that makes sandwiches, not a restaurant that bakes bread.  A bakery that sells wine, not a wine shop that sells scones.
